Secret Copy that will Make Facebook Pages Pop

Research has proven using THIS in your copy will INCREASE the sharing of your posts.

Write with nouns and verbs, not with adjectives and adverbs. The adjective hasn’t been built that can pull a weak or inaccurate noun out of a tight place… it is nouns and verbs, not their assistants, that give good writing its toughness and color.

The Elements of Style (4th Edition) from Struck and White told us this years ago.  If you don’t have the book, the link will help you.

Now there’s data to prove that they were right.

Social Media scientist Dan Zarrella has analyzed a huge Facebook data set.  His study of  the relationship between parts-of-speech and Facebook shares shows adjectives and adverbs don’t perform as well as regular, plain old nouns and verbs.

Think of it like a promo that you write for your air.  Use verbs.  WIN!
